I'm my special education classroom my students are divided into reading groups that best fit their academic levels. As I work with a group of students on their reading fluency and decoding skills, other reading groups will work on their vocabulary and comprehension skills. Students will actively follow along with a book on CD to obtain these skills. This reading center will not only assist them in reading growth but also help the students work on independent work skills. While they are hard at work, I'm able to devote my time working with small group reading instruction. This will not only benefit them, but also assist in their love for a good book.
