The goal of this project is to accumulate a class set of headphones for my students. This will allow students to plug into phones, computers, and other devices in the classroom which they can use to listen to authentic materials, perform listening exercises, and better understand their world languages! The more opportunity my students have to be immersed in another language, the more understanding and empathy they can cultivate for other cultures! As our district attempts to move to a one to one platform, students have more access to computers but not necessities like headphones that are so important in a world language classroom. Headphones allow students to work independently at their own pace. They allow students to practice pronunciation, complete online exercises, listen to authentic materials, and complete flipped video assignments. Overall, headphones would improve the listening facet of world language learning for my students.
