In band, the percussion section adds all the effects, colors, musical nuance, while helping to provide tempo as the motor of the band. Without the percussion section, band would be so much more dull and would not provide nearly the same excitement and interested for all of its application (marching bands, concert bands, movie soundtracks, ect.) Band without percussion is like a cake without frosting/sprinkles, while it may be good the presentation and taste is greatly improved by adding the toppings. The same is true with band! Our percussion section is also the state champions from last year! We are a title one school and work very hard to compete with all the other programs in the state. This would help us continue to compete at a state level and may even be able to push us into competing at a national level!
