Children learn better when they are interested in what they learn. The markers will help children to have fun when they are learning their letters and numbers even how to spell their name. In order to make the learning interesting I feel we need to have various materials at the childrens disposal. The markers will help with the pincer grip used for writing. The children will color/paint the specific letter they are searching for on their paper. We go on letter hunts (on paper) and search for specific letters so the children will be able to recognize and learn a particular letter. The write and learn alphabet cards is another way for children to visually see and remember a certain letter. The markers will help them to attain the pincer grip needed to write correctly. The photo cards will reinforce the letter name and sound and allow the children to match it with a picture to be stored in their memory for future reference. There is so much to learn when one can read on their own. So many things to look forward to as well. It is very exciting to hear a child say, "Hey I know that word" or "Can you help me to learn to read?" Even better is "I did it myself." I want to be able to instill this love of learning in the children so it will continue far beyond the Pre-K years.
