This project will help students learn real life skills that are applicable in any work setting. This project will help students understand many different facets of adult life such as customer service, handling of money, and an introduction in to the food service industry. The supplies listed are the materials necessary for the business but more than provide funds for our program, this school based enterprise will provide our students with social interactions that can prove to be vital in the educational process that otherwise they might not receive in a standard classroom. We need the coffee maker to give students hands on experience working with tools of the food service industry. The cups with lids and sweetener packets will be utilized to help deliver the coffee to teachers. This portion of our school based enterprise will help students with social interactions and build their confidence when dealing with money as well as in social settings. We hope to begin this program to help alleviate some of the stress of being a brand new high school brings. We are brand new which means we have little funding. This can be devastating for a small program like our class. This business will help provide our students with the funds necessary to enhance their high school experiences.
