The materials will be used every day all year round, until we RUN OUT! My vision for the school year is to create lessons that teach my scholars how to process emotions in a more creative and healthier way, as they learn about the elements and principles of design along with how other artists have used art as a vehicle of expression and explanation. I would also like to create a space where they can develop the skills to be global problem solvers. The various mediums will teach students how to work though life challenges as well as creative ones. Watercolors will teach them patience and planning. Color pencils will teach them how layers are important and how they can change your perspective on what your looking at. Acrylic paint will help my scholars with managing impulsivity and experimentation. We need tempera paint and drawing pencils as well. I really just want my scholars to have the necessary tools to get them through class and life in general. Most have never really delved into the arts let alone been given a chance to be creative artists.
