My classroom is design to support the social emotional development of students. Many of my students have special needs such as Emotional Behavioral Disability. Approximately 80% of the school district is economically disadvantage. My students face homelessness and unfortunately experience losing their love ones to violence. In addition, they have a hard time getting their basic needs met. This picture represents an activity to help students learn how to positively engage with others. Our school community is vital not only in the area of academia, our institution develops social skills and connects students with basic resources. Often my students' parents seek emergency assistance. Outside of school supplies many of my students have difficulty maintaining personal hygiene and desire to improve their self-care.
