Having access to Chromebooks everyday will help my students explore and build background knowledge that will help them understand text. It will also provide opportunities for students to use on line practices programs to help them grow as learners. I would love for them to take virtual field trips to places we read about so they can truly become involved in what they are reading. I discovered many of my students have never even been to a museum. I want to instill in them a love for reading, but without a way to build that background knowledge they struggle with becoming involved in the text. Researching about what we are reading and taking virtual field trips is one way to build their background.
