These ipads will improve mathematical numeracy and increase motivation in the classroom. Using the applications that I will be purchasing, students will be able to manipulate semi-concrete objects on the iPad to visualize more advanced mathematical concepts. Since my low-income students lack exposure to technology in their lives, these materials will make a significant difference in their learning and technical aptitude. Students will also be equipped with a wide range of resources that will enable them to improve many aspects of their mathematical skills. Thus, utilizing these iPads for a visual representation of numbers will provide students with a deeper, more conceptual understanding of number sense.
