My classroom comes alive with mathematics. My AP Statistics students learn how to manipulate data, take proper samples, find correct probabilities, and make inferences about an entire population. They work extremely hard in preparing for the AP exam. I really enjoy seeing the light bulb go on for many students who may have struggled with math in the past. My classes enjoy seeing data in action as we bring in data from all over the place. I really enjoy sports, especially the Golden State Warriors. I use a lot of data from the NBA as well as baseball and football data. I also bring in data from economics , psychology, and heath sciences. I truly believe an enriched curriculum involves students seeing that math is everywhere. My students learn to apply precision to their mathematics as they drive calculations with their graphing calculators. I often tell them that they are the analysts.
