My students come to school every day with a smile on their face and excitement to learn what we will be doing each day. We take time to care about one another before we start our day. We begin with a "Hello Circle". We take turns saying hello to one another, looking each other in the eyes, and saying one positive comment before moving on. This has built a wonderful community in our classroom. I teach at a Title I school in Porter, Texas where 96% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our school recently received the No Excuses University recognition. We believe that every one of our students are college bound! We regularly receive the perfect attendance award weekly. Our students want to be at school and are eager to learn more. They beleive they will be successful one day and so do I!
