I am a teacher in Billings, Montana at a Title I elementary school and have been for 15 years now. I recently made a move to a reading specialist position and am hoping to create a cozy reading area in my room for my students to get comfortable and really dig into their books. I have already purchased three bean bag chairs and a rocking chair, but I still need some big pillows and a fluffy area rug, some twinkle lights, a canopy, a ceiling cover, and hanging garland stars to help make this the coziest of Reading Dens. These students struggle with reading, and I'm hoping in my short time with them to really foster a lifetime love of reading and help them find the joy in curling up with a good book. Students in third, fourth, and fifth grades spend 60-90 minutes each day in my room rotating between whole group instruction, small group discussion, computer time, and independent reading time. I want students to feel their room is inviting and welcoming and a place they can love learning new things and discovering great books. Thank you so much for any amount you care to donate to help these kids be a little more comfortable as they learn to LOVE reading!
