Children love books. However, I have found over the last six years of being a pediatric speech therapist, that providing images to go with words makes children more excited about reading. I have adapted many books, on my time and with my own money. It will be wonderful to have access to the tools needed to do this. I would use the laminator to laminate books that have predictable texts (this aids in children’s confidence to “read along”). I would then choose appropriate Symbol Stix images to simplify the message of the story. Once these images are selected and printed out, I would them laminate them and place them in the book! I love they joy of “making language visible”! Music is such a vital part of life. I have found that children want to sing along, but often the songs are too fast or not loud enough. Using an app (Anytune Pro), in order to slow songs down, children engage so much more! They listen, they move their bodies and them remember! I just need more songs, and a better way to project the songs!
