With a good overhead document camera, I can introduce my students to presentations (videos, pictures, examples, lessons ) from all over the world on robotics, coding, science, technology, art; and how all these topics tie into real life experiences. With a click of a button, I can bring procedures, materials, and videos to the classroom, connect to the document camera, shoot it up to the screen; and have students watch and repeat what is being done on the overhead screen at their desks. They see it in real time! It would be nice if students developed, in groups of two or four, a code that showed some sort of motion; and took turns sharing it with the rest of the class. Wouldn't that be awesome! The possibilities are endless. My students love computers, are excited about learning coding, and fascinated about robotics; so, we just need more ways to bring these ideas into the classroom to explore.
