The students that I service have lost everything due to Hurricane Harvey. This includes family members, shelter, pets and even their school. Our school was ready to go and begin classes this past Monday but Mother Nature had a different plan for us. All effort that was put to have a welcoming 1st-grade classroom to initiate the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year has lost. My classroom as well as our school has been flooded. The rugs, easel and charts that I've listed are essentials that I need to be sure I can shine a bit of hope to our students. To assure them that at the end of the storm the light will always shine. And to give them the feel of comfort I'm sure they have lost experiencing this horrific situation. I ask that you please give my students assurance that although one door might have closed another door will always open. Thank you in advance.
