Our students are always asking for more books that have to do with science and social studies. These books would increase motivation and engagement in our students while enhancing our curriculum. Students love to read and look through texts on different topics. These books were chosen because they can be great teacher read alouds and also texts students could interact with on their own. The whisper phones would provide opportunities for students to hear themselves reading which leads to increased reading fluency. Providing students with additional reading opportunities and materials hooks students on being life-long readers and learners. This grant would help by providing additional reading resources for our students. Students love reading books in the classroom, especially on topics they have been asking to read about.
