About my class

My group of students are faced with many academic and personal challenges. Despite what may be going on in their personal lives, school is a place they feel safe, can learn new ideas and experience new things. My students love to read and participate in collaborative group activities. My goal is to provide resources and learning experiences that are influential to their academic learning and personal growth. Motivating my students to love reading not only helps them learn in all areas, it helps them escape their personal lives when it gets hard and they have no other place to go. Because we are an inner city school, we do not have the budget to be able to purchase all the things that my students need to be successful. If the students had more access to items, it would help them keep up in the classroom and make it more enjoyable for them.
