My name is Jackie, and this is my 4th year teaching! Teaching is not only my career, but my passion! A core belief I have is that if children are given what they need, they can reach their potential and experience lasting success. My first focus is always the social and emotional well-being of my students because I know if this is not in a good place, deep learning and self-efficacy cannot occur. My goal every year is that my classroom will be a safe environment meaning that my students will not only be physically safe, but they will feel safe to say what they are feeling, express concerns, reflect, take ownership for their actions, give and accept feedback, and not be afraid to be vulnerable. I take seriously my responsibility to teach children to become productive members of society that are able to build strong relationships, thrive in a career, and can give back in productive ways to their community.
