This year is our first year together, and my students' first experience with the sing, say, dance, and play aspects of the Orff Schulwerk curriculum. They are beyond excited and eagerly challenging themselves within these musical pathways. The gift of two soprano xylophones would allow us to dig deeper into our class-created compositions and provide a more flexible, student-centered approach to our melodic and harmonic concepts. My students are thrilled at the thought of independently accompanying themselves on barred instruments while they sing folk songs from around the world! By being able to provide xylophones to my students, I believe they will continue to anticipate our times together each week because they will have more opportunity for choice during each project leading them to take a personal ownership of the concepts we experience and the pieces we are creating. As a bonus, our vendor is offering a FREE glockenspiel (bell set) with the funding of any two alike Sonor barred instruments!
