Our students need to learn about stress, how it can negatively affect their mind and body, and ways to combat it. We want to have them leave the workshop by taking these lavender eye pillows and journals home so they can continue to use them after the workshop is over. Many students in a Title 1 Urban district will never get the opportunity to learn stress management. This workshop is a chance to give them some tools they can use throughout their lives to be healthier, both physically and emotionally. An opportunity to take these materials home to keep will be a huge lift for them and will encourage them to keep participating in these strategies. By educating students about mental health, we are hoping that we can set them up for a successful future beyond high school and college. These are necessary life skills that they will need to live happy and healthy lives.
