During my schooling to become an elementary educator I got to observe many classrooms that used flexible seating. In all of these classrooms I saw the seating to be very effective. Many of the classrooms used the same items that I am wanting to use in my classroom. My students are very active, love to move, and have a hard time sitting still and trying to learn in their normal seats. For example; I was teaching a lesson and one of my students, would stand up, then sit down, and then got bug the other students. Things like the wobble stool will allow this child to rock back and forth and continue to work without distracting out students. Another tool that may work for this student is desk bouncy band; this will allow the student to stand or sit and be able to bounce his/her leg to release some energy that may be building up. The bouncy balls with the legs and the wobble seats will also allow the students to move around while staying at their own seats. These seating props will also be able to be moved around the room for each students use. Having a variety of options will allow each student to find what works best for them and allow each student to use a different prop, so no student is left out. I feel that your donations will help my students be able to move, feel comfortable, focus for longer periods of time, and reduce behavior issues. It will also let them be more independent in picking where they want to sit and feel the most comfortable. This will change the way our students learn and give them the most beneficial outcome in their schooling for the school year.
