I have chosen these books to adapt my curriculum to be as diverse as the faces I see in my classes. Education is adapting and changing, and students need to read texts that are modern, challenging, and fun. Students want a mirror to be able to read about kids like themselves, and they want exciting stories filled with superheroes and villains. These books that I've chosen will not only engage my students and help them to learn about the structure of stories and poetry, but will also allow their eyes to have a break from the long days of remote learning, where they are most often looking at screens. Physical books are great, and sorely needed! My students will love getting a hand on stories that challenge and interest them.
