In my introductory French classes, I love to have my students engage with the outside world and interact with real websites in French. I'd also like to initiate a penpal project where I can help my students communicate with native-speaking French students around the world. Having Chromebooks in my classroom will make it possible for my students to explore websites for museums, tourist websites for famous French destinations, and write to their penpals in a supported environment. Because it's difficult for them to understand all of the content they would engage with in these settings, it would be ideal to have them do their research, activities, and writing when I can help them directly in class.
