My students need hands-on math tools, (ten frames, number bond) to help develop their math skills. One of the items that help support number sense is called a number bond- a hands-on math tool that helps young student decompose and compose numbers. With your support, these will be used as a hands-on math center during whole group instruction and independent center time. I am also asking for ten frames which are another tool students use to furhter develop their number sense. These math manipulatives are a vital tool that will support the new math program currently being used in my classroom, which ties directly to the Common Core Math standards. These materials will offer a tactile, hands-on mode of learning which will in turn allow the students to construct their own understanding of math concepts . My students will leave kindergarten with a solid foundation of mathematical reasoning and number concepts.
