Science, technology, engineering, and math...Oh My! The knowledge of STEM skills is becoming an ever growing need in today's world. This project will help boost my students' STEM skills. The materials will go into my library to enhance our MakerSpace area. This is an area where students can have fun by doing hands-on projects/games that promote STEM skills. Things such as robotics, coding, building, creating, etc. are essentials skills that this project will help teach. Students love getting hands-on experience to learn. The MakerSpace will be an area they can visit on their own or with their class. This will help enhance my library as well as support the teachers and their standards in a fun way! The Cubelets kit will be a way to give students hands on experience with robotics. It relates to science, but is not something the teachers have much time to go into detail with. The Cubelets will let students get hands on experience with robotics. The basic circuit learning kit of electricity and magnetism, Thames & Kosmos structural engineering, smart circuits games and gadgets electronics lab, molecular model kit, cams & cranks kit, the wheels axels, & inclined planes kit, gears building set, and lever and pulleys building set will all enhance science & math standards taught and give students hands on experience building and making things related to these skills. The ThinkFun Code Master Programming Logic Game and the Bloxels Build Your Own Video game will help students to learn basic programming skills. Programming is not a course offered at our school, so this will give students experience to things beyond the curriculum. All of these products will strengthen STEM skills in our students!
