I have used Scholastic News magazines in my class for the past 4 years. I love how they engage the students in reading nonfiction. They love learning about science and social studies through the magazines. They also align with our curriculum very well. With budget cuts this year we cannot afford to purchase them this year without help. Students get to keep the magazines, which may be the only reading material they have at their home. They get so excited to read and learn from the magazine and online materials. I believe these magazines instill a curiosity in my students and they want to learn and read more.
