Having headphones will allow my students to focus on their individual learning while I am able to focus on teaching small groups. We need these headphones for each of my kiddos to be able to access instructional videos, games, and activities on the computer. Headphones will not only help each kid focus on their work, but it will also give them the confidence and privacy for them to have the words read aloud if they are struggling to understand what they are reading. Many of my students struggle to read difficult text, but excel in comprehension! Headphones allow the cognitive load to be focused on the activity at hand, instead of trying to figure out what the words on the screen mean. Headphones will especially help my students access online learning in math and science, where the content vocabulary can make it especially difficult for ESL or struggling readers to work independently.
