My class is so excited by the possibility of incorporating more technology in our classroom! Currently, the school has provided us with one student computer per classroom and two to three computer lab times a week each being thirty-minutes long. However, our computer lab is also used for taking district and standardized tests which make the computer lab off limits to my class for a big chunk of the school year. During this time frame my students are assigned a time to use the classroom computer, but with 23 students, it is difficult to give them sufficient time to use learning programs. Having six iPads in my classroom will be a tremendous help in providing differentiated instruction and gathering crucial data about my students’ progress. These iPads would allow more frequent access to IXL, KidBiz, Think-Through-Math, I-Ready, and other educational programs in our classroom. These programs contribute to student learning, help improve students’ standardized test scores, and provide valuable data that allow me to provide targeted MTSS instruction and intervention. These iPads will allow me to make lessons interactive and exciting. The possibilities and opportunities for my students will be endless!
