Our unit this year for GATEWAY is Neuroscience. We are learning about brain parts and their functions. My students have access to a 3D printer but we need filament. Having filament for a 3D printer so that students can create models of brain parts will allow students to put their hands on physical items which will increase their ability to retain information. Creating a 3D model of the brain can also help students grasp abstract concepts, enhance creativity, promote critical thinking skills, and further develop 21st century skills. By being familiar with 3D printing technology in elementary school, students will be a step ahead of the rest of the world.
