Our district has equipped our students with Chromebooks with touchscreens. They are effective tools, but using fingers to mark up text for close reading and writing is difficult with fingers only. These thick stylus allow students to be more precise with their interaction with readings. The items I chose are also multi colored allowing for choice and style when selecting a stylus. Students are learning to be responsible users of digital media. Part of that learning expects them to read from a variety of sources and interact it in a way that shows they understand language, context, syntax, and narrative to evaluate relevancy. Close reading strategies often require marking text to "converse" with the write. These stylus allow that interaction while also saving resources link paper and ink.
