Before the pandemic, my students and I were exploring musical rhythms and melodies with water bottle drums, Boomwhacker tubes, and an assortment of hand percussion. We eventually began composing original melodies and rudimentary songs. While distance learning, we did our best to continue our musical exploration and composition with digital music tools, but it did not compare to having actual instruments in hand and performing together. This project will fill some of the holes in our instrument collection and provide a complete set of percussion for all the students to use and enjoy.
