My classroom is filled with an incredible and diverse group of young adults. During the year we tackle tough topics and skills. We create, dialogue, research, debate, edit, and perform for one another. We push against the boundaries of what we thought we could learn. Growth mindset and mindfulness weave throughout each week alongside lessons about evidence and comma placement. Some of my students recently arrived in the U.S. and most have been here their whole lives, but few have traveled beyond the borders of their town. We're going to explore the world through independent reading. This will be a class of readers, explorers, creators, and adventurers.
