Thank you for taking the time to learn about my class. I teach students that are diagnosed with autism. Students with autism face unique challenges and require a classroom that supports their growth and development. I want to create a space where they can go when they are overstimulated or just need a place to calm their mind and body. I see this space as a safe place where a student can de-escalate, feel secure, or simply rest. Weighted blankets are helpful in reducing anxiety and creating comfort. This area is much needed for my students. Thank you for your support.
