As a school counselor, I work with students of all sizes, in all different manners, and all with unique needs. One method of supports is meeting with students individually in my room for problem-solving. The problem is....I need seating! Comfortable bean bag chairs and fun colorful stools would serve as seating options for these students. In addition, I like to offer a variety of tools for students to use as emotional/social games & activities. I've requested a penny hockey game board, puppets, calm down cards and activities, and magnets for this purpose. Finally, a rolling storage cart would allow me to transport my classroom lesson materials from room to room, as I'm on the go almost 50% of the time! All students deserve access to a comfortable and inviting environment with supports for their emotional well-being. My room serves that purpose and will benefit from these items as the counseling program grows and reaches the students of our elementary school. Thank you for your time and consideration!
