Bee-Bots will captivate students' interest with the use of technology. Learning though play develops oral language and expressive language as students identify and make relationships between letters, numbers, shapes, sight words, environmental print, and other words and pictures of interests. Students read through memorization then apply learned skills identifying initial sounds and word chunks to sound out vocabulary or name mathematical concepts. Students are able to take clipboards and write words of interest. Through the use of Bee-Bots, students cooperatively learn concepts of direction and distance needed to read a map and acquire a sense of space. Students learn turn-taking skills and engage in conversations as they help each other estimating and predicting the space the Bee-Bot will stop at depending on their decision-making and counting skills.
