Technology has become a cultural necessity in kids’ lives today, but it is the most lacking resource for them once they step inside their classrooms. Students are more engaged and willing to learn when they have the option to use technology, as students are becoming more natural explorers of technology and devices every day. I want my students to have access to additional Chromebooks in my classroom to engage that willingness to explore and learn. My instruction and their learning will transform with these new devices just within reach. Instead of teaching just one content area, I can now expand on that instruction to include digital literacy, which is becoming a necessary skill for students and adults. My goal is that when students leave my class at the end of the school year, they are prepared, both in social studies and technology, to be successful academically and in their own paths in life.
