I'm dedicated to giving my kindergarten class hands on learning opportunities. We have a cram packed schedule and this Morning Tubs Project would make this hands on learning possible. Every morning as my students come into class, we have a 15 to 20 minute window of time were we listen to announcements and I do small teacher task, such as attendance and lunch count. This part of our schedule is labeled as "Morning Work". Traditionally morning work consist of worksheets. With in the first weeks of kindergarten I have discovered worksheets are not the best way to start my students day and get them excited about learning. Instead of worksheets I would like to implement Morning Tubs. Morning Tubs are stations in our class that give students hands on learning in different subject areas. These tubs will help build math skills, letter recognition and reading fluency. There are also tubs that will spark creativity, engineering and fine motor skills. Please help us achieve our goal of starting each day with fun hands on activities that get us ready to learn.
