In math, students need many concrete objects in order to allow for the strongest foundation. Whether is a manipulative or a anchor chart to allow whole group visuals, students need concrete. Bears, number lines and hundred chart galore will allow for a more concrete and visual way of learning. Learning how to use resources that are available in the classroom will contribute to success. Manipulatives are needed in math to allow exploration and math games to take way. Anchor charts and pocket charts allow for visualization of a skill or subject. Lastly anything that allows structure in the class whether its turn in tray or color coding work, student crave the structure.
