In my Environmental Science class, one of the big topics we talk about is soil formation and conservation. Especially being that my students live in an agricultural community and many of their families farm, this is an important and relevant topic for them to learn about. This soil kit will allow my students to collect and test local soil and tackle real life issues associated with soil as it's used for farming. They will use this kit over the course of a week to learn about the different types of soil we have locally, and learn about human impact on soil concentration.
