Some of our students are non-verbal and need extra support. Technology is really a great resource to help our students communicate. Apple is an excellent product for communication for Special Need Students. Their are lot apps designed for the needs of our students. Our classrooms are not yet at the level technologically to meet the needs of Special Need learners. Our students need games and activities that focus on the alphabet, letter recognition, numbers colors and number recognition, as well as math manipulatives to explore with at Learning Center time. Our students will use these materials to explore their ability through building, counting, making letters and sounds, and then words! These activities will be used during learning center times throughout the day as we learn and together. This grant will help to close that gap just a little bit more. Being able to gift them with items to make their work easier and more special they will continue to work hard. A little appreciation goes a long way to students and our students give so much.
