These sketchbooks will be used daily while students explore different media like watercolor, acrylic, printmaking, typography, etc to hone their skills to become the artists they envision themselves being. They will be able to look back on their middle school experience with this visual journal and see how much they have grown as artists through high school and beyond. Sketchbooks will be a low stakes and personal space for students to explore their thoughts and ideas before translating them into their final piece. Sketchbooks are important for every art classroom because they give ownership to the students and the work they are doing everyday.
