My students learn best when they can practice their skills in a hands-on way. We would use the games, magna tiles and math counters daily in our math workstations. The students can practice counting, adding, subtracting and even measurement. First Grade is an important year for setting the foundation of basic skills. Students need lots of practice to become fluent in their math facts and counting skills. We would use the counters in our whole group lessons and small group practice every single day. This is my 2nd year teaching and I just don't have many resources in my class. Your kind donation would help change that for my kiddos!
