This book is unique in that it tells our history through a multi-cultural and worldly lens. Having access to this book will allow students to consider some of the rarely-considered factors that determine how history plays out. These include the consequences of disease, invasive species, and countless other effects of the globalization that was sparked by European contact with the Americas. Considering history through a global lens gives students a more worldly, and accurate, view of history when compared to the more traditional, limited model of teaching names, dates, and a history solely determined by the wishes and actions of humans themselves.
