My classroom is not yet fully equipped with all that my students will need this year. These supplies will allow my students to engage with Mathematics with more focus. Calculators are tools that can aid students in performing simple computation so that their minds become free to tackle more complex tasks. With these in the classroom, students are able to collaborate and exercise true problem solving skills. Notebooks are resources that can help students organize their thinking and improve their study habits. I have noticed that young people with interrupted schooling often lack the skills of knowing how to study effectively. With this at hand, I can teach them strategies on how to organize their notes so that they can be successful in other classes, and not just mine.
