Every day my students come into the classroom excited to sit down and read together. They look forward to the interactive story time that we share. As a new teacher, I do not always have access to the books we are reading as a class and have to find other ways of providing the story to my students. Sometimes it involves online videos of stories, other times I have to find ways to borrow books from other classes, which takes away from their time with a story we are reading as a grade level. With the books listed in the project, my students will be able to not only read the stories as a whole class, but they will also be able to add the stories that interest them most to their book boxes for daily reading. Providing a variety of fun and popular books to kids ensures that each student will find something that interests them. That is why we are seeking expansion to our currently limited class library through the generosity of people on DonorsChoose.org. The books listed in our class wish list are popular read aloud stories that we would utilize on a regular basis. This includes titles written by Dr. Seuss, Mo Willems, Eric Carle, and more.
