I am an elementary music teacher in a high needs community. I will be teaching chorus, jazz, world music and general music, grades K- 5. Children will learn about the music of other cultures and learn to sing in many different languages, including French, German, Dutch, Wolof (the language of Senegal), Chinese and Japanese. I believe in using music education, already very comprehensive in itself, to aid in reaching many areas not always addressed presently in the educational system, such as social studies and geography. I also deeply believe that learning an instrument is the ultimate way to learn music.
