Our school is in a low socioeconomic area where 60% of the population is in poverty. Their world encompasses four walls. Many of our students often never get to leave their small community. We want to expose them to real life and make real life connections by taking them on field trips. My students learn best by seeing, touching, and experiencing tangible objects. We want to expose them to the world and not just through books, visuals, and teacher experiences.
