We would love to have more flexible seating options because I have found that it has been great for the students who have special needs. Because students have the option to find the seat that best works for them they make valuable decisions to best fit their learning. We have conversations on the best seat for them to learn; this will help them so much in later life when they need great study habits. Students that take charge of their learning really learn. In our classroom we have an understanding that the teacher cannot make you learn, you must choose to learn. That it is up to each student to take charge of their learning. Flexible seating fits in to that theory. We sit on the floor a lot so the cushions would be helpful for their caboose while they learn. And the yoga balls and stools provide a different option to sit on that is not the traditional chair.
