The products listed in this project are to help my autistic friends feel comfortable in their skin and in their environment. The students in my class have severe sensory processing disorders and need the calming effects of the weighted vests and blankets and vibrating pillow hoodies. They also have a great need to move and fidget. It will help relax and calm my students to maintain good behaviors instead of maladaptive behaviors. In helping with their behaviors, their academics will also improve and they will be able to learn in a positive classroom environment. Lastly, if they feel comfortable and safe it is easier for them to pursue a social interaction with other peers or adults in the classroom.
