In preschool, a lot of our curriculum is based around play. We have a variety of learning centers in our classroom that involve floor play, and no rugs for the students to play on. The rugs will provide comfort, safety and more sanitary conditions for the students to use the materials in the classroom. Even during the large group instruction, the children are sitting on the floor. Carpets would be more ideal, so the children do not have to sit on the cold, hard tile. We want to create a warm, welcoming, and inviting environment in our classroom so that the students will be more comfortable and want to come to school, and be excited about playing and learning!
